Anniversary Double Heads

The Wyon head of Queen Victoria was used in conjunction with the Machin Head to produce the Double head Anniversary stamps. These were issued in sheets and booklets. Also a striking miniature sheet was issued with a 20p anniversary stamp and a reprint of the penny black.

In January 2000 a further pane of double headed stamps was issued to mark the work of Jeffrey Mathews. This pane had security ellipses and for the first time contained 1st class NVIs.

It should also be noted that several issues exist with one or more sides imperforate these stamps were printed by Walsall, Harrison and Questa from booklets. They are also found on several different types of papers.
