Readers Digest M V Coil Strips

Some multi value coils were provided by Royal Mail for special customers, these were affixed to a card with wax, and used as return postage for promotions.

IE: Readers Digest, Drive Magazine and Marshal Ward are three of those known. These are known to collectors as readers Digest Coil Strips.


	All these strips are collectable, even if they have been removed from the original card, obviously these will show a gum disturbance across the rear of the strip. As with the items shown on the previous page, it should be noted when purchasing coil material that perforations are normally trimmed . Coil Strips can ( are ) also collected in different se-tenant formats. These are quite difficult to obtain and as such carry a premium over the norm. All RD coils were printed by Harrison & Sons in gravure.

	RD 01(11½p value ) The 11½p strip contains: 2½p + 3p + 3p + 3p, this is known on PCP1 & PCP2 with Dextrin gum . 12 06 1981 RD 02 & 2A (12½p value) ½p + 4p + 4p + 4p. Also known with two types of paper PCP1 & PCP2 with Dextrin gum. 30 12 1981 RD 03 & 04 (13p value ) 1p + 4p + 4p + 4p P CP 1/ DEX 14 08 1984 1p + 4p + 4p + 4p ACP/ DEX 18 03 1988 RD 05 (14p value ) 4p + 4p + 4p + 2P ACP/ DEX 05 09 1988
